Foraging for seaweed and shellfish on a half day course

SKU: FS/SC Categories: , ,

Description

Our foraging seaweed shellfish course is a great way to experience the amazing world of wild edible food in a relaxed and hands-on way. Many of the wild foods now regarded as “gourmet” are found along the seashore.

The seashore boasts some of the finest wild food in the land and the range of different shellfish and seaweeds are highly sought after food. Spring tides allow us to range far out onto the reefs and exposed rocks on a 2/3 hour identification foraging walk, focusing on shellfish and seaweeds.

As we walk out across rocks, finding and learning to identify our fantastic free foods, we will refresh you with wonderful aromatic wild tea, created from foraged plants. Chosen for their flavours and medicinal properties. If weather permits we also offer tasty morsels, simply cooked fresh on the beach – nothing comes close to the fresh, wild taste of foraged foods cooked or prepared for eating there and then.

If you are interested in a more in depth cooking course, take a look at the Forage and Cook course held on the beach with more time to prepare and learn about cooking and presenting the foraged foods to the level of a professional chef.
