Experience Sweden and the Arctic Circle in the most perfect of bushcraft course settings, canoe truly remote wilds stretches of the river, wilderness foraging, fishing and cooking along the way in the land of the midnight sun. Whilst we are there the sun will set and rise revealing a possible sighting of the Northern Lights.
More than just a simple canoe trip across a big lake. On our Sweden canoe wild river expedition there will be proffesional guildence in the art of fishing from canoes and the river bank, taking advantage of the rather uniquie fishing licences available to us in Sweden.
Learn the finner pionts of how to forage and fish under the guidance of both our local resident guide and outdoor instructor Toby and Coastal Survivals chief instructor Fraser, both very practically experienced in wilderness living, fishing and foraging, together they will teach you the many ways of how to confidently canoe, find and catch food, prepare and cook it in a variety of ways in a truly wild environment, along with how to plan, pack and perform any wilderness canoeing expedition.
Basic bushcraft skills such as fire lighting, shelter requirements, water and food will be approached as a matter of course.
This is an excellent course for anybody who wishes to experience the thrills and rewards of truly remote wilderness living canoeing along the river, giving you the personal confidence and skills for any further planned expeditions or trips along your own wild rivers.
Bushcraft skills taught and experienced on this course will include: fishing the river using different techniques including: Rod and line spinning, netting, trapping and spear fishing.
Wild camp fire cookery and preserving food will be hands on, experience taking advantage of the foraged and fished food to create simple dishes such as seared sea trout with a wild berrie reduction.
The course is fully catered. Food on the course is a mix of pantry stores and rations that we will supply along with any wild foraged or fished food that we may get along the way.
Once your with us in Sweden everything else is included from the moment we pick you up from the airport, including transfers, canoe hire and safety equipment, fishing license along with any specialist equipment needed for the course duration. If you wish to make your own way to the course start point, that’s fine.
All you need bring is your personal camping equipment, which will include a small tent, sleeping bag and mat, along with 2 easy to dry light weight changes of cloths in a waterproof bag and wet shoes.

Transfers will be from Lulea airport, both Scandinavian and Norwegian airlines have regular flights.
This course requires a minimum of 6 attending with a maximum of 8.
This course will be confirmed once 6 people have booked.
Confirmation of this course will be given at least 3 months before the event date to alow for cheaper flight or transport booking and all bookings should be made well in advance of that date.
Please book early to avoid disappointment as spaces are rescrited on a first come basis.
We would advise you not to book any flights until the confirmation of this course is given.
This course does not include personal or possession travel insurance or flights.

Day 1 – Flight arival, Airport collection and transfer to course start point, briefing, base camp night.
Day 2/7 – Remote wilderness Wild river canoe and wild camping.
Day 8 – Transfer to Airport.
