Master Classes from Coastal Survival are work shop based speacialist courses focusing on individual subjects and skills used in bushcraft, survival, foraging and off grid living.

Bushcraft and Survival skills workshops.
1 day workshop based courses in the woodland camp, including lunch and dinner, with wild camping accommodation available.
Gill net and net making.
Starting with fishing line learn how to make basic mesh nets without the need of tools. Learn how to construct and tie your own pocket survival gill net. All materials will be provided to make and take home your own net.
Willow shellfish trap making.
Using a bunch of willow rods, learn how to make a simple and effective traps ideal for catching shellfish and small fish. Willow will be provided to make and take home your own trap.
Fish and shellfish skills.
A full range of seasonal fish and shellfish is prepared and cooked. Learn how to safely handle, clean and fillet both round and flat fish, along with preparing and wood fire cooking a selection of shellfish.
Smoking and curing food.
The tasty and valuable skill of preserving food is simply explained and demonstrated, using a variety of spices and herbs, cold and hot smoking, salting and pickling of both meat and fish. Make your own bacon and preserved fish to be taken home with you.
All workshops include materials and food, with hot and cold drinks always available.
The courses are set off grid in our wild woodland base camp, high on the hills looking towards the coast. Source spring water and compost toilet on site.
Individual workshops are £78:00 per person on public courses.
