Wild Brewing course.
Over the past few years I have been mastering the art of brewing and preserving natures wild harvest, using basic ingredients (spring water and honey or sugar) and up-cycled equipment to produce inexpensive; pure, simple and truly delicious drinks – all with medicinal attributes.
If you would like to join me on a days wild brewing below is the course outline:
Making wines and beer from wild herbs, flowers and plants is not only rewarding in its simplicity, but also carries the medicinal benefits of the plants some aiding digestion or immune system, all tasting incredibly delicious and refreshing.
Many wine making books use lots of different components chemicals and equipment, I believe this is not necessary, pure wines and beers can be made from spring water, honey, yeast and the plants, with very little equipment needed.
The course starts with a tasting of some of the wines and beers from the previous seasons before we set about familiarising ourselves with the equipment and process needing to successfully brew, we will then forage and process available fruits, flowers and plants to be made into wines and beers.
What we process on the day will be divided amongst the students to be taken back and allowed to brew at home, so you can appreciate the full process and of course get to taste the rewards of your efforts at the end of the brewing process which varies but is often between 2 to 6 months.
